Nigel Planer began his career with chum Peter Richardson at The Comic Strip in Soho, in 1979, in the Outer Limits where he tried out a character called Neil who went on to feature in BBC TV's series The Young Ones. Neil had two Top Five UK hit singles. Peter Richardson later created The Comic Strip Presents, featuring Nigel Planer. The series ran from 1982 until 2000. Bad News with Nigel as 'rock star' Den Dennis was a high point. Many roles followed: Filthy, Rich & Catflap; Shine On Harvey Moon; and Nicholas Craig (actor), are but three examples, amongst many UK TV series that span three decades. Nigel has also appeared in the West End in We Will Rock You, Wicked, The Rocky Horror Show, and Hairspray. This year he will appear at Wembley Arena as a villain in the stage version of BBC TV's Dr Who. Henry Scott-Irvine Producer/Presenter
